PR from Start-Up to Acquisition
MCC took Home Media Networks from start-up to acquisition. The company
had developed a PVR, or personal video recorder, PC software system called
ShowShifter. Our brief was to drive the company’s corporate and technology
messaging in the UK, publicising ShowShifter as a groundbreaking application
that can turn a normal home PC into a 'personal media manager'. At the same
time there was a business objective - to propagate new OEM deals with hardware
and peripherals manufacturers.
By the time this client was acquired
we had made ShowShifter ubiquitous, the default PC PVR system in T3, Practical
PC, Personal Computer World an PC Format. The Home Media Networks team had
also become regular commentators in Computing, Computer Reseller News, Microscope,
Silicon and New Media Age.
John Croft Home Media Networks’ CEO was thrilled with our work praising our “comprehensive outreach into consumer, IT and internet press… Not only has MCC International provided blanket coverage for our product - ShowShifter - but it has educated press in the market sector that we sit in.”
